Are you looking for a creative way to tell your student, “I love you and I’m proud of you”?  Place a recognition ad in the yearbook!
This is a one-time opportunity for 8th grade students only. In the future, seeing your message will bring a smile as they remember your love and support during these important years. And, it’s easy to create a recognition ad. Go to this website, create an account, and design your ad for your student. You get to pick the photos and text you would like in your ad, format will be adjusted to match the theme and colors of the yearbook.

We can even keep the ad a secret until the yearbook is distributed (but only if your son or daughter isn’t on the yearbook staff).
Reserve a space for your ad today to say how proud you are. Like the yearbook, your message will be a permanent memory. Deadline is November 1st!

School Fundraiser
Each year, our school conducts one school-wide fundraiser to support our students and teachers throughout the year. We use the funds to purchase supplementary curriculum products for students, fund special requests by teachers for instructional materials, support teachers with professional development, fund student incentives, awards programs and celebrations such as the 8th grade celebration day, as well as keep our building refreshed with the "extras" that make our school awesome for students such as flexible seating around the building. I am excited about our fundraiser because I think the incentives for students are really fun and the students will love them! I mean...who doesn't want to be part of the "Day of Awesomeness"? It's going to be epic!Students are having a kick-off event today, so they are ready to get started.
Your support each year makes a difference and sets us up to be successful. Thank you for your participation and support!

if you want to be part of the awesomeness and volunteer to help at a station on October 18th, please email Sandra Carter. sacarter@mckinneyisd.net

Print this flyer and return tomorrow for your first incentive when you send emails to friends and family.
These are being passed out at school, but you can print if it doesn't make it home.

Cockrill Theatre is excited to announce the first play of the year. It is a comedy called "Attack of the Pom-Pom Zombies." This is a really funny play and will be a ton of fun to perform! All students can participate in the cast or crew of the play. All grades are welcome, and you do not have to be in a Theatre Class to participate. This play will have lots of funny characters to audition for, including zombie cheerleaders, football dudes, helpful nerds, mad scientists, and pirates! We will also need lots of help with our backstage tech crew. We'll need help in lots of areas like stage managers, props and set, sound, costumes, lights, and LOTS of help with hair & makeup for those quick zombie transformations! Auditions and tech crew interviews are September 10-13, before or after school. Go look at the callboard by the theatre door in the Fine Arts hall for more information and to sign up for a time slot for an audition or tech crew interview! Ask Mrs. Fox in C116 if you have any questions.
